  • Write a 1-2 page response to the readings and post before next class.
  • Write a brief proposal (1-2 paragraphs) describing your topic and the theoretical framework you seek to develop. Due October 14.

Theoretical Framework

One of the challenges of any scholarly writing at the graduate level or beyond is to incorporate a discussion of relevant critical theories that will inform your work. The goal of this assignment is to develop the theoretical framework that will inform your final project.

  • Here are parameters:
    • Research the theories you find most relevant for your essay.
    • Write the introduction to the essay you’re writing about.
    • Write a 2-4 page theoretical framework for your essay.
    • Reference foundational and recent discussions of them.

The Theoretical Framework is due on Thursday, October 21.

Professor Leonardo Flores is Chair of the English Department at Appalachian State University. He taught at the English Department at University of Puerto Rico: Mayagüez Campus from 1994 to 2019. He is President of the Electronic Literature Organization. He was the 2012-2013 Fulbright Scholar in Digital Culture at the University of Bergen in Norway. His research areas are electronic literature and its preservation via criticism, documentation, and digital archives. He is the creator of a scholarly blogging project titled I ♥ E-Poetry, co-editor of the Electronic Literature Collection, Volume 3, and has a Spanish language e-lit column in 80 Grados.
