  • Labor Day – No class

Wednesday, September 9

  • Song Analysis due:
    • Analyze the use of sound in the lyrics to a song of your choice, including:
      • metrical analysis
      • rhyme, alliteration, consonance, assonance
      • particularly catchy lines
    • Write a 250 word analysis, login to UPR, save analysis in this shared folder.
    • Post your analysis in Facebook, including a link to the song and/or lyrics.

Thursday, September 10

  • No longer Monday schedule.

Friday, September 11

  • Read 2-3 of your classmates’ Facebook Group postings and comment on them.
  • Explore Penn Sound, particularly the Featured Resources Archive. Listen to 2-3 poems.
  • Read about and play with MUPS.
  • Write a 1-paragraph posting on our Facebook Group about your response to one work. Provide a link to the work.

Professor Leonardo Flores is Chair of the English Department at Appalachian State University. He taught at the English Department at University of Puerto Rico: Mayagüez Campus from 1994 to 2019. He is President of the Electronic Literature Organization. He was the 2012-2013 Fulbright Scholar in Digital Culture at the University of Bergen in Norway. His research areas are electronic literature and its preservation via criticism, documentation, and digital archives. He is the creator of a scholarly blogging project titled I ♥ E-Poetry, co-editor of the Electronic Literature Collection, Volume 3, and has a Spanish language e-lit column in 80 Grados.
