For this year’s Electronic Literature Conference—ELO ’26: Unsupervised, July 15-18, 2026—I had the honor of offering a talk as part of a panel and the closing keynote address. Here are the details along with links to the recordings of the talks.

Talk: Slipping into the Future

My first talk was part of a panel titled Reorienting Electronic Literature, collaborating with Mehulkumar Desai and Dr. Shanmugapriya T.

When I proposed this talk, I didn’t know that I would be invited to offer a keynote at this conference, and because I really wanted to be able to address AI in more detail in the keynote, I shaped this presentation as a critical/creative preamble to it.

Keynote: Beyond Impossible Writing: Electronic Literature in the Age of AI

My keynote offers some perspective, challenges, and provocations for the ELO community as we consider AI technologies and their potential and impact to our field.
